Use PlaceJar fairly and it's yours to enjoy. A few things worth knowing up front:
Saving and organizing places is free; planning is paid, and you'll always see the price before you confirm.
We won't quietly auto-renew you into a plan you forgot about — billing mirrors our no-surprise-charges promise.
Places come from posts you share; we extract them as best we can and confirm when unsure.
This summary is for orientation only — the full sections below govern.
01 Acceptance of these terms
PlaceJar ("the Application") is provided by Abdullah Oğuz ("the Service Provider", "we", "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using PlaceJar, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms take effect on the date shown above, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
02 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use PlaceJar, and old enough to form a binding contract and to use the social platforms it works with in your country. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for consenting to data processing (for example, up to 16 in parts of the European Union), you must meet that age or have a parent or guardian's consent. PlaceJar is intended for personal, non-commercial trip planning.
03 The service
PlaceJar lets you share posts from supported social apps — currently TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts — extracts the place or places referenced, plots them on a map, and helps you build day-by-day routes from the places you've saved. Features may evolve over time, and we may add, change, or retire functionality. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and some features may be offered as previews or betas.
04 User content & responsibilities
You're responsible for the posts and links you share into PlaceJar and for ensuring you have the right to share them. You keep ownership of the collections, notes, and plans you create.
To operate the service for you, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display your content solely to provide and improve the features you use — for example, to transcribe a shared post, identify places, and sync your stash across your devices. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained briefly in routine backups. You confirm that your use of shared content does not infringe anyone else's rights and complies with the source platform's terms.
05 Acceptable use
Please don't misuse PlaceJar. Among other things, you agree not to:
Break the law or infringe others' rights using the service.
Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, decompile, or overload the service or its infrastructure.
Scrape, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.
Circumvent or attempt to bypass paywalls, entitlement checks, or usage limits.
Upload malware, or use the service to distribute unlawful, harmful, or infringing material.
Use automated means to extract places in bulk beyond ordinary personal use.
If you breach these rules, we may limit, suspend, or terminate your access, and where appropriate report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
06 Subscriptions, billing & cancellation
Saving and organizing places is free. Trip planning is a paid feature. Where a purchase is required, the price and terms are shown clearly in the app before you confirm, and payment is processed by the App Store or Google Play — not by us.
Our no-surprise-charges commitment
We won't use dark patterns or quietly auto-renew you into a yearly plan you forgot about. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your device's store settings at any time, and cancelling never deletes your saved places.
Auto-renewing subscriptions renew at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends, in line with App Store and Google Play rules; cancelling stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies — we generally cannot issue store refunds directly. If your local law gives consumers a right of withdrawal for digital purchases, note that by starting to use a paid digital feature immediately you may agree to begin performance and acknowledge you may lose that right once the service has been fully provided. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
PlaceJar works with content from third-party platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for those platforms or the content posted on them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. All third-party names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe interoperability.
08 Your device, network & updates
A few practical responsibilities sit with you, not with us:
Connectivity. PlaceJar needs an internet connection for extraction, sync, and maps. We are not responsible if a feature is unavailable because you lack Wi-Fi or have used up your mobile data, and any data, roaming, or carrier charges you incur are your responsibility.
Device security. Keep your device and account secure. Jailbreaking or rooting your device can remove security protections and may expose the app to malware or cause it to malfunction; doing so is at your own risk.
Updates. We may release updates and may require you to install the latest version to keep using the app, so that PlaceJar continues to work with current operating systems and third-party services.
09 Disclaimers
Place extraction and routing are provided on a best-effort basis and rely in part on third-party data. We cannot guarantee that every place is found correctly, and details like names, opening hours, locations, and travel times can be wrong or out of date, so please verify anything important before you rely on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
10 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service, including travel decisions made in reliance on extracted places or routes. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the applicable law where you live, including mandatory consumer-protection rules.
11 Termination
You can stop using PlaceJar and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, with notice where reasonable. On termination, your right to use the service ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy — deleting your account deletes your stash, subject to limited legally required retention.
12 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use PlaceJar after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms; if you don't agree, you should stop using the app and may delete your account.
13 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Türkiye will have jurisdiction — without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have, or the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, where the law where you live provides for that.
